NewsTwo Dollar Guitar has had to cancel their 2 upcoming August shows in NYC. We hope to re-schedule these shows very soon. 'The Wear and Tear of Fear' will be released Aug. 21. Smells Like Records will present a night of music during this year's CMJ Festival Sept. 15th at The Living Room in NYC. The complete line-up includes smells like records artists and friends : Kieran McGee, Ursa Minor, Smokey's Secret Family (featuring guitarist Smokey Hormell), Chris Lee with Tim Luntzel and Steve Shelley, Jesse Harris and Tony Scherr. The Deluxe Edition of Sonic Youth's 1990 album 'Goo' is set for release on
September 12, 2005. SYR 6 is also being prepared for release. This CD edition of the SYR series is a recording of the benefit concert held at and for The Anthology Film Archives on April,12 2003. Sonic Youth performed with drummer/percussionist Tim Barnes. Part of the proceeds of this CD will again benefit the Anthology Film Archives. The SYR catalog will also soon be available via Kung Fu Nation along with a soon-to-be expanded Sonic Youth Store at Kungfunation.com Christina Rosenvinge has been working on her follow-up to 2004's 'Foreign Land' CD. She has been recording in Madrid with Steve Shelley and Jeremy Wilms. She will also appear w/ Steve and Jeremy at the Prima Vera Festival in Barcelona, Spain on May 28 along w/ Sonic Youth. Tony Scherr has recorded the basic tracks for his new CD "Twist in the Wind". Like Tony's SLR debut CD 'Come Around' the new recordings feature Tony's brother Peter Scherr on bass and Kenny Wolleson on drums. Chris Lee and Steve Shelley have been working on songs for a new Chris Lee CD along with bassist Tim Luntzel. The trio will record in May with Aaron Mullan at the SY studio in Lower Manhattan.
